I would think that the appliance company's would freely give out all the info on products they produce and I would be suspect of any that didn't. For example, if you are a consumer of major appliances you might need to pay attention to this rave: If you go to purchase a product do you like it because it looks good? Well yeah you do. But you want it to function right don't you?

Do you go out and buy a Mercedes because you know it is a great car or you can afford the insurance, parts and service are no biggie to you? Before I buy a product I want to know are parts available and cheap? Can I fix it or pay somebody a tiny sum to fix it? Or am I gonna need to consult NASA to see why my frigging washer is on detergent overdose? The manufacturers here in the good old U S of A need to wake up and smell the coffee. Americans want stuff that is reliable and THEY CAN FIX! I stongly suspect Canadians also want that convience along with the rest of the friggin world.
